Call me old fashioned or silly, but I thought the purpose of a discussion board was to discuss....That includes venting, agreeing and disagreeing, attempting to persuade, occasionally arguing, perhaps testing out your ideas and all of the other things that go into communication.

None of us are going to change the world on DU, and this certainly isn't intended to be a sole source of activism.

But lighten up and keep iot in perspective. To quote a currently popular phrase: "It is what it is." If you're bored or frustrated by the nature of discussion on DU, you are free to take a break, do other things with your time, live, etc. You can always pop in and out at your discretion.
