For every (stormy) cloud there is a silver lining... Olympia Snowe
Edited on Tue Oct-13-09 10:16 AM by Peacetrain
If Olympia Snowe, bails on us... the silver lining to that, will be a strong message to one and all in Washington, that there is no working with this Republican Congress. That their (the republicans), politics are more important than the welfare of the nation.

There will be no more need for discussion.

How Olympia Snowe votes, will frame if we as Democrats keep trying to bring them with us on legislation for the whole United States, or we leave them in their little realms of influence to ineffectively chomp and chew on every forward motion we make.

There is that silver lining.

2. If she votes No, then we can use reconciliation for a much better bill.
If she votes Yes, that will perpetuate the myth that she's needed, and result in a lousy bill.

6. I want her to vote no. I'm tired of courting her one vote
It's not like her vote is going to provide any political cover for moderate Dems.
