5. Sense of humor?
This man continues a tradition of Democratic presidents winning the Nobel Peace Prize. Jimmy Carter, Al Gore, and now Barack Obama.

What happened to Ronald Reagan (didn't he, and only he, defeat communism?), and the two Bushes?

I think it's obvious...Democrats are much better at world peace.

I heard Pres. Obama this morning and it struck me that his speech patterns are unique and I believe will go down in history along with FDR, JFK, and the Big Dog as among the most recognizable Presidential speakers!

What do you think when you hear "Reagan" besides "Well..." and "There you go again"...???

Or the Bushes? ???

10. Sense of humor, anyone?
Edited on Fri Oct-09-09 10:04 AM by KansDem
What happened to the famous "sense of humor" of DU?

When we think of FDR, we think of:
"I'm an old campaigner, and I do like a good fight!" and we hear his New York/North-East inflection...

When we think of JFK, we think of:
"Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country" and we recognize the use of rhetoric and hear his Massachusetts inflection...

When we think of Bill Clinton, we hear the "Big Dog" from Arkansas...

I like Obama's speech inflection and think it will be remembered for generations to come...

13. Both my wife and I heard him speak on the radio this morning...
It tickled us!

We spent the rest of the morning getting ready for work and talking like Pres. Obama:

"Honey...would...you...like...a...cupofcoffee?"

It made us smile and put us in a good mood!

How does that saying go: "Imitation...is...the...sincerestformofflattery"

17. Oh, so you're like that Republican who made fun of the Democratic candidate's stutter
Nice work.
What a throwaway post. How about some substance.
It's neither funny nor original to make fun of somebody's speech patterns. It contributes nothing to the conversation. In the end, it shows a lack of any thought altogether.

21. Lighten up
Obama is a good speaker and has no handicap - it's nothing like making fun of a stutter!

The responses in this post are bothersome. We get accused of blindly following and hero worshipping the President and all that crap. So we poke a little fun and now it's the opposite? LOL.
