Max Baucus is a complete and utter failure
Senator Kennedy was able to get a bill with a public option voted out of the HELP Committee, and he never once used the lame and illogical claim about needing 60 votes.

1. He's a success at doing what he wanted to do.
It'll pay off quite nicely for him. A win for Baucus today. What consequences will there be? A bunch of people he'll never see are mad on the internet?

2. Yep but why do I think that these votes are just symbolic and the final
answer has already been agreed upon?

3. The Dems should rip his bill up when it gets to the floor.
OK, they can preserve the financing mechanism and scrap the rest.

Baucus is a liar and a failure.

9. I would agree, as long as it doesn't wind up killing reform.
He should have to start over.

4. Max Baucus doesn't care about us the way Ted Kennedy did.
He only cares about his pockets being lined by the insurance cos. So what if he doesn't win re-election? His loyalty will be rewarded with a lucrative lobbyist position; it'll pay for that million dollar home he just bought.

I'm sure that's been his plan all along. x(

5. Once again, it comes down to geography.
As in where the Senators in question are from. On the HELP Committee, not one of the Democratic members is from a McCain state. All three of the Democratic no votes on the Finance committee are from McCain states.

11. Be that as it may...
it is no coincidence whatsoever that over two different committees the only Democratic "no" votes would come from red states. There is no possible way to dismiss that.

12. A failure as a human being, yes.
But as a money grubbing whore, he is going to be fantastically rewarded.

Just another soulless person whose passing will be little noted or celebrated. When you live like he does, you don't get to be revered in death.
