There are three weeks left until Republican candidate, George W. Bush, and Democratic candidate, John Kerry, come together for a nationally televised debate at Washington University in St. Louis. We are organizing around the debate to focus on real issues and grassroots politial activism. To do this we are organizing teach-ins, a parade (or march), and non-violent demonstrations near the debate site. Our goal is to bring together speakers, activists, performers, and pogressive groups to show our disillusionment with the current political system, to educate about excluded issues, and to create the world we want to live in!

Remind people - WE WILL STILL HAVE OUR COUNTER-DEBATE, if George Bush cancels CPD debate

2. I totally agree...it would show * to be the loser he
is...he cannot appear before anything but a stacked audience. So what if the people who say they are undecided when they enter the building, may be leaning Kerry? So f'in what?

In 1992 I was active in anti NAFTA work and the group I was with staged a debate between Perot, Clinton and Bush. This was held on the same day they were at Washington University. Also present at our "debate" was a representative from a black union group and UNITE. We had seats for all invited people and just placed the names, Clinton, Perot and Bush on their empty chairs. For those who were present, it presented quite the message.

Later on that night I went to Forest Park and watched the debates on a large screen TV the Clinton campaign had erected. It was AWESOME! I had so much fun working on that campaign!
