1. One is the Heller Amendment that was defeated
in the House Ways and Means Committee.

3. Gibbs was so funny today.....
.... he said, "why would someone who is in the country illegally want to participate in federal program that would alert authorities of their illegal status!?"

I'm constantly amazed at how he's able to shoot down the right's complicated arguments so effortlessly.

4. Why, oh why, would illegals want something for free?
Edited on Sun Sep-13-09 10:27 AM by Centrist_Bob
I seem to remember huge rallies fairly recently, where thousands of illegals marched through streets of major cities, demanding "RIGHTS". Oddly enough, they were not worried that they'd be seen. The current administration has shifted the efforts of ICE and is now IGNORING illeglas, so if anything they are MORE emboldened, not less. So for the President to suggest illegals won't wish to participate is disingenuous. What makes it doubly-sad is that so many blindly go along with it.
Illegals are getting welfare payments in Los Angeles County TODAY! They certainly aren't shy about working loopholes in the system to get money.
Saying the bill prohibits illegals from getting coverage, when there is no verification, is like claiming a law prohibits children from buying tobacco and alcohol when vendors are PROHIBITED from asking for ID.
And YES, there are actually active PROHIBITIONS from asking for ID or verification. In California we have them for voting too, and NO, the illegals aren't shy about voting either.

5. Really Bob? You mean the last administration were hard-asses regarding illegal immigrants?
And please provide a link, preferably one that doesn't smell like you pulled it out of your ass, regarding how "illegals aren't shy about voting" in elections.

Enjoy your short stay today.

:hi:
