Anybody up for debate practice?
Play both sides.

Chimp - Kerry: What is Chimp likely to try as a "zinger" against Kerry in the debates? What point could he make that would be most difficult for Kerry to respond to? He's been rehearsing one-liners like a simian standup comedian in his stump speeches, so no doubt he'll be looking for opportunities to use them. Think of the worst one, and a good Kerry response.

Kerry - Chimp: What could Kerry say that would give Chimp no response whatsoever? Again, play both sides for the sake of debate practice -- try to come up with a good response to test whether there's a fool-proof (literally) statement or jab Kerry could make.

For example, how could Kerry respond to a sarcastic remark about his "flip-flopping?" Or, what's the most devastating line Kerry could deliver to Chimp about Iraq, offering no come-back?

I know it *shouldn't* be about who gets the best one-liner in, but it so often is, and I am sure Chimp's being coached and rehearsed toward that end. Who knows -- maybe brainstorming could give lurking Kerry strategists or insiders some ideas or provide some to send them.

1. kerry flip-flop comeback
1.) "I don't do flip-flops. I wear Birkenstocks."
2.) "I may have changed my mind on a few issues, but at least I didn't flip-flop on my commitment to the Air National Guard."

2. How about, "People hurt by your policies wish you'd flip-flop."
"People wish you'd change course because your policies are failing them on healthcare and jobs. But when you insist there's no problem and don't listen to the people, or even to your own advisors, it's easier to congratulate yourself on being 'steady and unwavering' and let the failures continue."

Well, that was too long. But something like that, maybe, is what I'd love to hear.

4. A slight revisiion on #2
"I have indeed changed my mind on a few issues -- which any sensible leader would do, given the rapidly changing times in which we live. But on many other issues I have been very consistent -- such as my support of the Homeland Security Department, the creation of the 9/11 commission, and whether or not it is important to capture Osama bin Laden. My opponent cannot say the same."
