Dumb Ass Comment of the Day

In the Politico article titled "Petraeus, Scarborough eyed for '12" Bob dole said something that, in my opinion, was a truly dumb ass comment.

The article plays with the idea that, as Obama's number drop, Republican hopes for a Presidential win in 2012 grow. Palin's name was given, as was Gingrich, and even Joe Scarborough, as the title stated.

Then Bob Dole piped in:

Well, I'd like to see Gen. Petraeus warm up,” Dole said. “I don't know anything about his politics, whether he has an interest. It's kind of a time for another Eisenhower, in my view."

Well tell us, Bob, in your view, since you don't know anything about the man's politics, or political skills, or even what party affiliation he has, why in the world would you assume that Petraes will be a Republican, let alone another Eisenhower?

If this is what the Republicans call hope, I hope they go with their gut instincts. Find an empty military uniform, and run it. Maybe if we're lucky the Repukes will also drop Sarah Palin from all approved Republican campaigns, and have her run an empty cheerleader/newscaster/failed Governor outfit in her place. Maybe then Bob Dole will endorse that costume as well, and cement his position as the Republic Least Likely to Say Anything Relevant.
