As a Canadian this is so alarming and disturbing. PLEASE PLEASE America, protect your President. The climate is being set for something terrible. It has happened before and it CAN happen again. It is all so unspeakable and I an frightened.

I'm cheered that no one has gotten to the Obamas yet. You can be sure some people have planned.

I think this is waking normal people up to what's going on. I know my coworker is paying attention now.

Unfortunately, it's become American nature to sit back and watch situations stew until the point of no return. Significant actions almost CAN'T be taken in this country until something appalling happens- and usually it takes repeated appalling things to overcome the inertia.

This all primarily because he is a black man...being a democrat in office too is a double-strike.

I find it fascinating that democrrats are for the people but yet the people are against them...which explains why so many democrats have such weak spines.

I've been terrified since the nomination...

I never thought I would see a black man as president in my lifetime.

And I hope to god nothing bad happens to him now. It would damage the country very badly.

Although, yes it's always a possibility, the secret service will protect the president, especially at times when the blood pressure of the people has risen to the level it appears at now.

7. The Secret Service will do their best. I'm sure they're on the highest alert

and have been for quite some time. Thankfully those men and women relish the challenges that come with their duties. Any threat simply makes them more determined that nothing will happen to President Obama.

I am not without fear, however. Some of the nutcases are quite well trained and heavily armed. We would be foolish to ignore the situation.
