All you need to know about AARP is...
Edited on Tue Aug-11-09 12:29 PM by rollingrock
they were the biggest proponent of the Republican-backed Medicare Part D bill fiasco back in 2003, that prevents government from negotiating for drug prices and bars price competition from pharmaceutical providers in Canada. Remember that?

AARP spent millions of their members' dollars lobbying for this Republican-backed sham of a bill authored by the PhRMA lobby and Republican Congress, then went into law after being enthusiastically endorsed and signed by Bush himself.

AARP is a very big and powerful lobby, but they proved that they do not represent the interests of senior citizens!

7. Unless you take...
...a 'single payer, else status quo' position, then the AARP's participation is nothing but win, especially since the status quo works to their advantage. They've got something to lose, and are still working towards reform.

They do?
well, that does not influence my opinion of them in anyway.
Nor does it change the fact they take big dollars from United Health.

12. They are a sponsor of Faux News as well...
I don't trust them any more than I trust any other insurance company. Wolf in sheep's clothing if anything.
