Health care reform - It's time to get 'er done!

I am spittin' mad at the far right wingnuts stealing the townhall meetings, taking the discussion away with fear tactics, yelling down discussions, and interfering with others' right to hear their representatives speak on the subject. That is NOT what democracy is about!

There's no mistaking that NOW is the time to do something about health care. I'm no expert on exactly what the plan should be. But neither is anyone else. Our country's leaders have attempted this before, always with the result that nothing gets done...which suits some people just fine.

No more bullying from the wingnuts should be tolerated. No more lies should be tolerated. No more caving in. No more hoping to get the nutsoids on "our side." Democrats can compromise til the cows come home, AND THE REPUBLICANS WILL NEVER VOTE FOR A DEMOCRATIC HEALTH CARE REFORM BILL.

NOW do they get it?

No matter WHAT the Dems do, the pubes are going to twist it and turn it, and use it to their advantage, and will NEVER agree with it! There is no point in trying to coax them on board. The Democrats will also NOT be popular in passing the bill at first, no matter what is in it, so they should be prepared to accept that.

So the best thing to do is to go ahead and pass a damn health care reform bill. JUST GET 'ER DONE!!!! It will be far easier to revise it and hone it in the future, than to try to do a bill again from scratch. And the Dems will probably never have as good an edge on getting it passed as they do now. Popular President, smart President, good team, majority in both houses in Congress, and half the country in the President's corner.

NOW is the time! Just get 'er done. I am scared a bit, too, on what will be in the bill. How much will it cost? How will it change my insurance? But I am willing to bite my lip, grit my teeth, and fully support by future votes ANY GOOD FAITH ATTEMPT at fixing the health care mess.

Might as well put a public option in it, too. Hell, half the country already hates the President and Congress, anyway. A public option won't hurt in the polls that much more. THAT'S what being unreasonable and trying to force THEIR way down our throats gets the wingnuts. NO place at the table. NO compromise.

People with power NEVER just give it up. They will fight to the last breath over this. So just shove 'em aside, and get 'er done!

NOW IS THE TIME! The country needs our President and Congress to be strong in the face of bullies. They need to do the right thing!

Mr. President, members of Congress: Your country needs YOU!
