"left wing of the Democratic Party" is the favored victim of the MSM. What the WAPO does not say in today's editorial against a second stimulus is that the top economist in the world, Paul Krugman, advocates a new stimulus package.

Vice President Biden's admission that the administration might have "misread" the country's economic woes gave ammunition to those, including but not limited to the left wing of the Democratic Party, who always believed that $787 billion in stimulus was too little.

Of course, it's inconvenient for the newspaper's case to cite that fact.

Dean Baker also holds the same view.

1. Yes, but Krugman is considered left wing by the MSM idiots.
Not sure another one would pass right now though.

3. True, but he's not affiliated with the Democratic Party

Nor does he obey the party line at all times. He has both praised and criticized the President often, as well as some centrist Democrats.

2. This member of the left wing
says take it away from the banksters and put it to work where needed-like rebuilding infrastructure.
The only thing that trickles down from the top is warm, wet and yellow.

4. I'd take whatever the WaPo says with a huge grain of salt.
I've read too many stories where they get the facts wrong, lean right, and never apologize.

Opinions I can take; their shoddy reporting-not so much.

8. Or, as economist Dean Baker has taken to calling them,
"Fox on 13th".

They are pathetic anymore.

6. What about him?
Krugie's politics are aligned with those of the LW of the Dem party. You wouldn't say, "the conservative wing of the Republican party and Bill O'Reilly," would you?

10. Krugman is independent. he works for an independent newspaper, and he doesn't carry Democratic water
Edited on Fri Jul-10-09 05:40 PM by Adir Pykhtin
We can't call say, Nader part of the left-wing of the Democratic Party simply because he's left wing..
And also note that the Washington Post said "including but not limited to the left wing of the Democratic Party," implying that there are left-wingers who are not affiliated with the Democratic Party.

9. The Republican Editorial page is showing their colors.
The first people I heard quoted as needing a second stimulus
was DLCers right out of the Clinton Adm.
