Mary B. McCarty, a 2000 Chair of George Bush's Presidential campaign, who allowed "two dozen Republican operatives" to "turn her commission office into a makeshift war room and watch the 2000 manual recount on closed-circuit television," was sentenced to 42 months in prison today for corruption.

Her sentence strikes me as very lenient, considering the damage she has done to the country.

but I wish she and so many of her revolting, expedient ilk would get far longer terms than this, culminating in life imprisonment for two war criminals whose names rhyme with Chush and Beney.

This is good, but not enough. Instead of catching them 5 years later, we need to keep them out of power entirely.
