RNC slams Obama for romantic date with Michelle in New York
By Jimmy Orr | 05.30.09

Sure, it’s one of the worst songs ever written. But perhaps President Obama and First Lady Michelle are closet Air Supply fans and are simply “Keeping the Love Alive” by enjoying a date-night in New York City tonight.

As we told you earlier, the Obamas are spending a presumably romantic evening together with dinner and a Broadway show this evening in the Big Apple.

If the RNC are fans of Air Supply as well, perhaps they believe the Obamas are “Lost in Love” because flying off to New York while the economy is tanking is just not right they say.

“As President Obama prepares to wing into Manhattan’s theater district on Air Force One to take in a Broadway show, GM is preparing to file bankruptcy and families across America continue to struggle to pay their bills,” RNC spokeswoman Gail Gitcho said in an email this afternoon.

That’s not all from Gitcho. She then added a snitty, “Have a great Saturday evening — even if you’re not jetting off somewhere at taxpayer expense.”

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah, right. Shouldn't he be flying off every weekend to someplace 2000 miles away for a photo op and wood chopping?

1. Soldiers were dying, but Bush thought it was ok to go to Texas and move brush.
And he was gone for weeks at a time.

I don't think the obvious comparison is lost on most Americans. At only 20% of registered voters identifying as Republican, the Party of No isn't making any headway with this kind of nonsense.

2. Fine. Let's talk about what Bush and crew were doing while thousands died in NOLA:
-Bush was partying with John McCain in Texas and fundraising in California
-Cheney was on vacation in Wyoming
-Condi Rice was shopping in 5th Avenue and seeing Spamalot

And that's just one example. GOP should STFU.

Really quite pathetic of them. Gitchmo's probably jealous and dateless.
And how many hours did Gitchmo work this week? Or next week when Obama will be 'jetting off' to Egypt/Normandy/etc.?

4. The GOP is better than the daily comics. Not to mention,
promoting a suffering industry, the New York theatre industry, I'm sure there are a lot of people who appreciate that.

5. Please, RNC, keep putting out those kinds of statements...
...everytime you do, several more Americans move farther away from the Republican party.

PLEASE keep it up. You're tone deaf.

6. They took the tiny little GULFSTREAM ... and acted as boosters for the theater district...
and probably influenced others to do the same sort of thing.

I hate to make fun of someone's name, but "Gitcho" is a cruel rhymer's gold mine.

14. You know the right always loves to harp about those family values
Edited on Sat May-30-09 06:29 PM by Hawaii Hiker
and President Obama actually lives those family values, without preaching about it either...

Look at that pumpkinhead Newt Gingrich, getting a divorice while his wife was on her deathbed....Look at the pre-diabetic fatso Rush Limbaugh, whose been divoriced who knows how many times (at least 3x)....And when he's not getting a divorice or devouring a steak, he's popping oxycotin....Then there's Rudy "9/11" Guiliani, whose been married more times than Elizabeth Taylor....

Fuck you RNC..

15. They're jealous 'cause they aren't getting any
IMO, the President having a healthy "relationship" with his wife is a good thing.

These pigs wouldn't know a loving marriage if it kicked them in the groin.

They were scandalized when Betty Ford said she slept with her husband Gerald "As often as possible", and they SHARED a bedroom!! Oh the HORROR!!!

They can't stand a happy marriage.

(insert Grand Rapids furniture joke here)
