Of course, the story is rather more complex than NBC is letting on. Other reports say the bus was supposed to arrive at 9:30, and the White House held the tour up for an hour as they waited. Either way, it's so ridiculous I actually laughed my ass off at the image. American journamalism at it's most wretched.

Hey, if I were a kid I'd be feeling extremely bummed out. But I'd look at my parents/school admin for an explanation for being late, rather than blame the White House.

When you go for something important (job interview, critical meeting, catching a flight, etc.) you ensure that you are there well before-hand, and plan for delays. This is a great lesson for the kids and parents alike - plan, plan, plan!

So these parents want their few minutes of fame - let 'em rant for a bit. They'll just have to keep explaining to everyone why they were late in the first place!
