10. Not On MSNBC, Because They Didn't Air Speech
it's time to switch to CNN during the day folks.

MSNBC too busy enjoying the sound of their own voices criticizing PO. Chose not to air a speech on education to a room full of Hispanics.

13. And, they should know why they're not being watched
and why they won't make it to # 1.

2. Yeah, but it should be directed at the parents themselves.
Turn off the TV set, put down the beer/wine, and actually spend time with your kids instead of ignoring them. Parents spending quality time with their children is a proven method in improving academic achievement, far more so than merely telling your kids not to watch TV.

great speech as usual and was appreciated by the group.

7. Not really.
I don't know if you have raised kids, but I know that this is a message for both parents and kids.

For parents, after a long day at work, and a bunch of things to do once one is home, it is hard for many not to use the Television as a way of parking their kids somewhere where they, the parents don't have to deal with them. It happens in many homes throughout the United States day in, day out.

Folks need to hear this.....because it is easy sometimes to be lazy with one's responsibility....and come up with a short cut, that will not be helpful to all of those concerned in a long run.

9. It's fluff for parents and kids.
Feel good, life-affirming, patronizing fluff.

Might as well tell people to brush their teeth and take their vitamins.

12. I disagree. Perhaps because I work in a pre-school center
5 hours, 3 days a week, I have a different experience.

For some folks, the message is needed in order for them to clearly understand,
that what they are doing isn't the right thing......

I like it. It speaks to our priorities, or rather our lack of them.

Very tough (but ever so nice) to imagine one week in America w/o TVs or video games...

11. He's Right, Watch CNBC and Fox For A Few Minutes And You'll Be Convinced Bush Was Okey Dokey
It is an amazing parallel universe that you can see on CNBC, which bears little resemblance to the reality most of live in. In that world, our problems were caused by stupid homeowners who took money from banks to buy a home.
