PHOTOS When Nancy met Brad
Actor Brad Pitt appears with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi before their meeting on the "Make it Right" project, in the U.S. Capitol in Washington March 5, 2009. The project was launched in 2007 to construct affordable and environmentally-sustainable housing for low-income residents of the Lower 9th Ward in New Orleans who lost their homes as a result of Hurricane Katrina.

major kudos, but I certainly hope HUD will be taking a more active role in rebuilding the 9th Ward. It should NEVER have required a private foundation to be formed to accomplish that. HUD should have been planning to do it from Day 1.

I'm just relieved someone with some means actually did something; I was under the impression that the poorer area of New Orleans were totally being ignored.

11. Ain't this amazing, what the President ahs unleashed...
it's good to see these guys getting involved, as for Brad, he has one of his project in
Baltimore, where he took a run down neighborhood and turn that area into an affordable
living for folks, he has been doing this for awhile with no recognition, my guess is
now he believes there is someone in the White House he can work with.

Kudos to you pal....

Keep it up...

Don't let George beat you to the punch.....;)

It used to make me sick watching her with the Chimperor - ick. From these photos, she doesn't seem to have as much eye contact with Brad as she did with *. She's camera watching - probably hoping for a People cover.

I have so much admiration for the work he has been doing in NO. If it weren't for Brad, how much progress would there be in the 9th Ward? It's a great thing that he's doing.

28. What a bizzare thing to say!
"I think he wants to go back to the good old days of girls and parties."

What in the world would make you think that? He's always loved children and has wanted a huge family. He and Angelina were made for each other in that respect (and other respects as well, I'm sure). Every single indication is that he's totally in love with Angelina and they have a happy marriage. Every single indication is that he's delighted with his family and is a good father. Why in hell would you think he wants to go back to girls and parties? And anyway, he was never much of a party boy or girl jumper, he had long-term relationships.

Yeah, I'm a fan of his movies and his charitable work, but man, what a bizarre thing to say.

29. long before he was with Angelina i remember him speaking
about how he wanted a lot of kids. i don't think he would ever regret being with Angelina even if they were to get a divorce because of the kids they had together .

i agree, it is a strange thing to say. people can be and look sad for many reasons. i don't even think he is sad as much as just being serious and concerned about something.

38. Look at those pictures
He just doesn't look happy. I don't know if he's tired, or tired of doing this stuff, or something else. But he had an amazing life before he got married. Now he has his kids, but he's also sucked into all this other stuff.

You have no idea if he's "totally in love with Angelina" or if they have a happy marriage. Every indication doesn't say that, though it's none of our business.

I'm a fan of his too. I think I will always be a fan of his for Fight Club. He was amazing in an amazing role, in an amazing movie. He's also been great in most of the rest of his movies. (12 Monkeys, Seven, Snatch, The Mexican, Babel, and even Troy). But that has nothing to do with the rest of this.

34. What strikes me the most
Is what someone up-thread said about how his eyes are friendly. They really are. I just get the urge to like give him a hug or something because he looks like such a nice, kind person. He looks like the sort of celebrity who would actually stop and help you if you accidentally dropped a bunch of important papers all over the sidewalk.

41. Well, to each their own, I guess...
I don't think Brad has those "perfect" facial features, but I tend to think that people who are not quite so "perfect" are more attractive sometimes.

But for me his attractiveness comes more from not only his body & looks (yum!) but it's more about the way that he carries himself, the way he expresses himself, the timbre of his voice.....as I said upthread, there is a kindness and gentleness about him..... I don't know, I just find him to be very swoon-worthy.

On the other hand, millions of women seem to swoon over Tom Cruise and I have NEVER found him to be attractive AT ALL. So like I said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess.

LOL... I like Jason Lee, so, so much for my thinking people have to have "perfect" features, eh?

Really, I just never thought Pitt was all that and a bag of rocks.

George Clooney, on the other hand...

44. LOL. Funny you should say that...
In general, I am not drawn to blonde men either! LOL. Brad is really one of the only ones. (Although he really isn't blonde much anymore....)

And you had to go and mention Clooney, huh?! Geez, back in the day (during ER etc.) I never really got the fervor over Clooney but I think he has gotten better and better with age and his personality is just completely irresistible. Now I think he is just wonderful (and sexy). It doesn't hurt that when he does that crooked, smirky grin of his, it freakishly reminds me of my Dad who passed away several years ago! Yeah, I got a thing for Clooney too.....

And Hugh Jackman, and Will Smith, and......:9
