I know we're not supposed to look at polls but...

1. Rassmussen
has them all as a toss up. Let the pro's worry about the polls. They know what to do with the information, all we can do is worry ourselves sick.

I always say dont even look at the polls till 3 weeks out but, I too am guilty of checking in from time to time. Trust in the team and let them work their magic. 3 weeks out will tell the tale.

2. As someone pointed out in another thread
One of these pollster groups is Republican and another is unreliable.

I'm not trying to make excuses or be pollyanna, but you do have to keep these poll results in context. Always mouse over the states on electoal-vote.com and you'll see what the poll results are and who did the poll. I always take Rassmussen and Zogby poll results seriously; Gallup a little less so; and take it case by case from there.

3. Don't use electoral-vote.com...
They use any new poll available and update the state based on this information.

I like http://www.race2004.net. They don't update the state color based on most recent polls. They use a formula to determine best guess, and this is based on poll trending.

Also, if you click on a state you can see a historical list of most recent poll results.

and many of those states are incredibly close. This election is very fluid. Don't get too riled up just yet.

5. AUGH! For the 15th time, LOOK AT THE POLLS HE'S USING.
Electoral-vote.com was under fire from Freepers for not using Strategic Vision polls, even though they are a "nationally-recognized" polling firm.

So, they eventually relented and started using their numbers, even though Strategic Vision is a very pro-Republican polling firm.

Electoral-vote.com has a policy of showing only the newest poll in a given state. As a result, when a more reliable poll comes out in a previously Strategic Vision state, Kerry often jumps out to a lead. This is why Kerry leads by 50 electoral votes one day, and then Bush leads by 50 the next.

DON'T PANIC.
