Why/how does a story just DISAPPEAR from the media? This one was FAST
I read a thread on LBN about a Cheney statement at a campaign appearance in Iowa on Sept. 13:

Responding to the question, "Previously Russia hasn't always been as supportive, with recent circumstances, would Russia take a more aggressive stance and continue to fight terrorism with us around the world?" Cheney said, "You know, there's been a, in some circles, in Europe for example, some of our European friends have been somewhat ambivalent about this whole proposition with respect to how we deal with terrorist attacks. I think some have hoped that if they kept their heads down and stayed out of the line of fire, they wouldn't get hit. I think what happened in Russia now demonstrates pretty conclusively that everybody is a target. That Russia, of course, didn't support us in Iraq, they didn't get involved in sending troops there, they've gotten hit anyway.""

See this thread for more: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=102&topic_id=825010&mesg_id=825010&page=

Then I posted a thread in here asking for help in finding it, as it appears to have been "scrubbed" from the NYT: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=808884&mesg_id=808884

Questions: why did this disappear from apparently ALL news outlets so quickly? Cheney's "vote for Kerry and get a terrorist attack" comment stayed around for a while. But this? POOF! Gone. Did "we" officially get a bit worried at his belligerent comments toward Russia and a few other nations who didn't support us in Iraq?

I have to admit: I knew this happened in the media, but I'm a bit chilled by this. THAT WAS BIG. VERY big. WHO could have just gotten the NYT to pull it and now no one is reporting it at all?

Check out the links I put here for other links explaining a bit. I'm chilled. I knew the media was controlled, but THIS heavily???

this needs it:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5992886/

Go down to "Not breaking through yesterday..." (no kidding).

That's where it starts. It is the ONLY place I can find still quoting Cheney (as in "Russia still got hit").

Here's the full piece on that link:

Not breaking through yesterday, but worth mentioning: Cheney's strikingly aggressive comments about Russia "keeping its head down" during the war on terror and getting hit anyway."

That Russia, of course, didn't support us in Iraq, they didn't get involved in sending troops there, they've gotten hit anyway."

Per MSNBC's Priya David, the Bush-Cheney campaign said afterward that Cheney was talking in the broader context of the war on terror. Spokesperson Anne Womack said that the Vice President was saying that the consequences of terrorism can affect anyone, regardless of whether they joined America in the "exercises" or not. Kerry spokesperson Phil Singer argued that this was another example of Cheney linking September 11 and Iraq, despite Colin Powell's Sunday remarks that there is no link.

That Womack woman is wrong. That is NOT what he said.

Can anyone help me with media blasting this???

3. you must be careful when analyzing terrorist attacks
I am currently reading "Sorrows of The empire" by Chalmers Johnson. In it he discusses US empire building since the late 1800's. It is not beyond US/CIA to stir up trouble in countries where there is relatively none. The US has done this for years to justify their presence in foreign lands. With new military bases established recently in places like Kosovo, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan, look for more frequent instances of terroristic acts.

4. Right
I was just amazed at how quickly his comments were scrubbed from almost ALL media sources......within hours. NYT and WaPo managed to get up stories, but that entire section from the NYT was taken out hours later and WaPo doesn't report the worst part of his comments.

The ONLY place I can find it reported is that blog of MSNBCs.

That's it.

6. It's horrible what these crooks have been doing for years

I was just looking at another thread http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x826447 they are talking about the 911 families suing Riggs bank for funding the terrorists who flew those planes into the building that day. If I'm not mistaken, a Bush sits or sat on the board at the bank until recently. It's amazing what they manage to keep out of the media.

cheny said what he said for a reason (he knows cause he's the mob boss)once they realized it gave a little too much away, it was scrubbed.
