My Letter to Zell Miller - No reply

I was one of the "boots on the ground" on 9/11, the event that supposedly changed your mind about John Kerry.

My office is 200 feet from where 2 WTC stood. I watched it collapse and hunkered down in a nearby building. After 5 minutes I left in the asbestos and concrete haze that enveloped the area, helping a woman in a doorway to get her asthma inhaler.

After the second collapse I holed up in another building. Like others, I kept wondering where the hell is the American military. They certainly weren't protecting me that day.

I finally got home at about 3 p.m. that day, even though we don't live far away from my office - you could see the twin towers from my bedroom window. My suit was full of soot. After hugging my wife and kissing my baby son I turned on the TV to see the President with this look of fear on his face, the look of a deer caught in the headlights - a man who had no idea what to do or how to do it.

Why it is so I don't really know, but that's your man. In honor of Frank Bonamo, John Swaine, Tom Dennis, 40% of my neighborhood firemen and the many others who died on that ignominious day, he will never be mine.

Someone NEEDS to call these RW idiots on what cowards and conspirators they actually are. Ignoring August warnings, four hijacked planes, a 23 minute call from one of the planes and not initiating ANY reponse until 34 minutes later is INEXCUSEABLE.

This is NOT my president, nor will he ever be.

I thought the letter would make his staff see what he has wrought. The guy doesn't get it.

It's no wonder 49% of NYers think the government was involved in 9/11, though I think that's a bit of a stretch. No one was punished, except Bill Maher. No one has taken responsibililty, except Richard Clarke. No one stepped up to the plate, except the NYPD, the FDNY and the American people.

Given that 9/11 happened on his watch, how can we re-elect this man?

It is a wonderful letter. Write another one and send it to your newspaper. It should be seen.
