6. "tipgate" was a claim by a waitress that Hillary didn't tip her...
When the campaign provided a reciept proving that they had in fact tipped her 20$, the controversy was about Hillary "mismanaging" campaign funds by tipping too much :eyes:

11. Thanks
I was starting to think it had to do with campaign workers tipping cows, in an attempt to win over farm state voters

7. And yet some people are calling for this talented speechwriters firing.
Who of us hasn't done something stupid while drunk?

W. made a Presidency out of it.

9. I am not being argumentative or questioning the veracity of your comments
but where are the people calling for his firing?

I haven't seen any here on DU.

I think this is such a non issue and I think it is so ridiculous that the posts that I HAVE SEEN saying that Obama needs weigh in or comment on this are stupid.

Geeze, I agree with you, let it drop. The kid did a dumb thing by POSTING IT, the act itself is just some drunk antics.

Who cares.

10. I've definitely seen people here saying that he should be "gone" now
and I agree, it's ridiculous. Maybe if this was still the primary, but this is just another (even though it was stupid) nontroversy to me.

I had never even heard of tip-gate....or half the gates that were references on DU until I read about it here (joined late in the primaries). I think my stress level would have gone through the roof if so many "gates" had been in my stratosphere.

12. Well, I'd say it's pretty understandable that some would call for his firing
Obama doesn't need people who are prone to making mistakes like that one. I'm not saying he should or shouldn't be fired, I'm just saying it shouldn't be any surprise that some take it seriously enough to call for his head.

It's cardboard and a photo that warrants only a laugh. The BS outrage is ludicrous.

I myself found Bill's cheating to be far more disrespectful of Hillary Clinton than this.

On edit: So did Hillary Clinton.

It isn't ALL Clinton supporters. That's fucking hilarious.

And why do you Clinton-hating low lifes always go back to Bill cheating? Like his personal life says anything about his accomplishments and record as President. It doesn't.

22. That poster is one of the usual foam-at-the-mouthers
Those on the left who hate Clinton do so because he had a successful presidency without needing them at all. Obama will go through the next 8 years without needing them either, and the rabid Clinton haters will undoubtedly become rabid Obama haters.

I'm not even certain that poster is an Obama supporter to begin with. He only stops to post about how much he hates the Clintons.

Seems like another attack on Clinton and her/their supporters for absolutely no reason.

..if you want to hire someone in their 20s for a job, I guarantee you there will be some embarrassing drunken pictures on facebook. If you're trying to find people who are squeaky clean, stick to the over 40 crowd, or people who get very little sunlight. So really, you either forgo very talented young people who are good at their jobs or live with the fact that some people like to let loose outside of work.

27. A waitress in Iowa claimed that the Clinton camp didn't tip her
When the Clinton campaign produced proof that they had tipped her 20$, the Clinton haters went on about how she was "mismanaging campaign funds" by tipping that much. It was a huge deal on DU of course.
