One of the few consolations about death is that you leave the problems of this earth behind.

But I'm beginning to think that if there is an Afterlife, Bill and Hillary will somehow find a way to muck things up there too.

It's like there is no escape. Just when you think it's safe....there they are muddying the waters and stirring up shit.

Okay, I wasn't thrilled when the story floated about Obama thinking of appointing Hillary Secretary of State. But I figured, "Okay. he can make his own choices, and maybe she'll be okay."

Now, though, the Clintons once again overshadow the whole transition process with their Ego Driven dramas. "Will she or won't she?"....."How will Bill factor in?"....

Jeezum.

St. Peter, watch out. The Clintons may want your job someday.

1. Get real.............so soon you deny the *bush/cheney
mafia..........we ALL suffer today because of them.....not the Clintons. If you really want to speak out on abuse, pick a guilty ticket.

14. I'd LOVE Obama to be a pale sequel to the only Clinton who's had the job
If we do half as well under Obama we'll see 11.5 million new jobs, a 150%+ gain in the stock market (as in it would be about 20,000), take well over two million people out of poverty even with an increasing population, and see unemployment cut by 25%.

If you thinbk I can do a better job than Clinton did(I'm not a fortune teller so have no opinion myself here) then double those numbers and add whatever you like. Frankly though I'd be ecstatic with the pale sequel scenario.

2. Where were you when Rahm was talking to press about making
the tough decision? Will Rahm burn in hell because he dared to talk to the press?

Your bias appears to be clouding your perception.

7. So, you are suggesting that because the vetting process
on Bill Clinton is taking longer, and because Obama has said he will not name his cabinet until Thanksgiving, it is all Clinton's fault.

Your bias is clouding your perception.

8. I'm simply saying that the Clintons always make things messy
I don't know who leaked this whole Secretary of State thing, but compare it to the straighttforward (so far) process that has happened with the rest of the Obama picks.

Why is Gov. Napalatano not "bargaining" with Obama in public over the terms of her possible appointment?

Bill's activities have not been a secret. Why do we have to go through this "vetting" of him now?

I would simply prefer that Hillary have kept to the Senate, where her sense of drama would have fit right in.

Really. I don't even like them that much but this is getting out of hand. The media is playing this game, not Obama.

9. Take a look at who is driving the drama. Is it the Clintons or the media?
There is always going to be a certain amount of "drama", as you put it, whenever the Clitnons are involved in anything. You can depend on the media circus to report on and discuss indefinitely any rumor they hear.

For the most part the transition process has gone fairly smoothly. Right in line with the No Drama Obama tone.

But the one exception and the overshadowing Melodrama is related to.....oh you know.

32. You don't think it's maybe because there's, you know, more interest in Bill and Hillary than Holder,
Napolitano and the rest? The Clintons are household names, the rest aren't (yet). Hillary is the most high-profile possible cabinet member.

25. That's the point -- The primaries are over. Why do we have to reprise it?
Would it not have been possible for Obama and Hillary to have quietly explored this possibility without allowing it to become anotehr soap opera?

Sure, if Hillary had been offered and accepted the job, some of us would have pissed and moaned. But we'd get over it. But instead, it's yet another chapter in the major distraction of The Clintons.

Update 11/20:

The New York Times reports that suspected leaks from the Clinton team are angering Obama aides and may threaten Hillary Clinton's position:

Both sides were engaged in a delicate public and private dance, maneuvering for position and reputation in case the deal falls through. Aides in each camp have grown increasingly sour toward the other in recent days as the matter played out publicly.

In their public signals, the Clintons are trying to take the former president's activities off the table as an issue, in their view eliminating any excuses for Mr. Obama not to give Mrs. Clinton the job. Some in the Obama camp are bristling at what they see as strategic leaks by the Clintons aimed at boxing in the president-elect and forcing him to offer the post.

The tension could foreshadow a complex relationship burdened by suspicion and enmity should Mrs. Clinton become secretary of state. By putting her in the cabinet, Mr. Obama could remove a potential thorn in the Senate on issues like health care and a potential rival for the nomination in 2012 if his term proves rocky. But he could also face a rival power center within his own administration with her on his team.

28. Must be nice to have an imaginary boogey man to blame for all your dissatisfaction.
The media doing cartwheels and you lap it up and blame the ever-evil Clintons for the specatcle.

The last thread I read here was citing Obama aides throwing stuff to the media clowns.

But please continue to do backstrokes in that pool of hatred oblivious to reality. And when you're done - two words: seek help.

30. Nooooo, I don;t blame them for all my dissatisfactions -- Just certain political ones
I have no problems with the Clintons, when they are contained, and just stick their noses to the grindstone.

But their personal dramatics, and their "centrist" CONservatism, has had a lot to do with the problems of the Democratic Party and the nation over the last 15 years.
