I'm watching the FOX News guys tie themselves up in knots.....
Edited on Fri Sep-10-04 06:04 PM by kentuck
I've been away all day today....I had no idea Dan Rather had kicked the ball back into their court. I still think Kerry and the Democrats should keep a distance from this issue, because there are more important issues that he can now make progress on while FOX News and the right-wingers are trying to untie themselves. This is friggin' hilarious! I say we should let them wallow in these lies a few days and we attack them head on on the war, on leadership, on their failure to protect this nation, on whether or not our nation is safer, etc. We should take the exact opposite position to Bush and Cheney.

Yes, we need to get our troops out of Iraq as soon as possible. And, with or without our allies, we will find a better way to resolve this mess than these incompetents in the White House. They failed to protect our nation on 9/11 and they have the gall now to say they will keep our nation safer. We ask the people to look at their actions, or lack of actions, because words are cheap. These guys are all hat and no cattle. We will protect this nation and we will not play on the fears of America. We are a better nation than that.

2. Faux
Flipping through the channels yesterday, I happened to catch a few seconds of Fox News. I think it was Brit Hume...reporting that "Superscript wasn't available back then, and neither were those fonts." Plainly obvious lies.

I hope this event exposes the RightWingers vs. Media dynamic. For too long, Republican interests have forced mainstream journalists to suppress stories and twist reporting to soften, if not eliminate, the biting sting of reality. Now, finally, Republicans are rallying against a news source that isn't CNN (which is in their pocket anyway). This could be precisely what the media needs to find its testicles and begin to fight back.

CBS, Republicans aren't your friends. They'll send you praising e-mails right up until you have a story they don't like, at which point (presently) they're boycotting you. Good luck getting interviews. Think your WH correspondent's seat will change, to the back row? All because you reported a story they can't refute.

5. Dream on.....we keep coming up with things for Kerry to "attack" on and
it ain't gonna happen. I think it's because he's been in the Senate so long...he had to learn to measure his speech and not be confrontational.

Only the Zells and DeLay's and Gingrich's are alowed to blast out on the Senate floor. Kerry is a "gentlemen's agreement" Senator of the "old school."

He will not attack in the way we would want him to..

Somehow he didn't have a "plan" for how he would become President...

But..I'm working to get the vote out for him...it's hard when he isn't giving much help, here...

6. I hope you are wrong KoKo01.....
But I know what you mean about the Senate...it tends to make wimps of the best of men. I hope Kerry proves us wrong.
