It's really a problem of political discusison boards: except for the occasional momentary pleasantness when something goes well, there is really nothing to say (except "great job") unless there is something to complain about.

The solution? I dunno. Go read a novel or plan your garden for next spring. Rent a movie or listen to some music. For the last 8 years I was thinking that we shouldn't have to put so much work into monitoring the every move of our government--voraciously tracking every cloture vote, memorizing the names of every assistant cabinet secretary. Don't you think we should start to relax a little and get back to actually living our lives a bit more?
