Politico: Eight races still too close to call
"The fate of eight House and Senate races remained unclear through Thursday afternoon as ballots continued to be counted in contested races across the nation.

Senate races in Minnesota and Alaska may be headed toward recounts. Georgia’s Senate race, meanwhile, appears headed toward a runoff.

While Democrats picked up six Senate seats, they are still three seats short of the 60 seats needed for a filibuster-resistant majority. Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesman Matthew Miller said the committee is still focused on the potential pickup opportunities remaining on the board."

4. We'd have to win those three AND
keep Lieberman in the fold.

5. follow-up
so...can we wait until after these three seats are determined to decide what to do with the punk? IF (and ONLY IF) we need him to be filibuster-proof, we should keep his ass around.

6. pretty much
If the Democrats plus Bernie Sanders are more than 50 (which is a given) and less than 59 (which is likely), then Lieberman is completely useless.

7. Only if we KEEP Lie-berman.
Wanna make a bet that if we reach just 60, with Lieberman, that he changes parties to flip us back down to 59?

I woke up thinking that thought this morning. :(
