We will remember this night

When we talk to our grandchildren, we will be able to tell them where we were when our great nation rose above superficial differences. We will tell them of a day when the tale we always heard; that America is a country where anyone can grow up to be president became more than just a trite saying. Not only did an African-American man become president, but someone who grew up without his father, someone who knew the pains of poverty, someone who grew up as many of us did, from the outside looking in. Tonight is not just Barack Obama's victory, it is a victory for every American.
