Does anyone else think McCain will throw a hail-mary on Thursday morning?
Right after Obama's amazing convention speech to 80,000 people, McCain announced his VP pick and most coverage of Obama's speech dissapeared.

Obama's ad is not as newsworthy as the speech (though still newsworthy). Does anyone else think that McCain will throw another hail-mary just to get any coverage of Obama's ad out of the news?

2. It's in his nature to some kind of hail-Mary stunt, but what's left
for him to do?

His coffers are near-empty and his veep nom is a rogue nitwit.

Members of his own party and even some of the mainstream media are calling him on his fear-and-smear tactics.

I'm not seeing any move readily available that would reverse national polling inside 6 days.

I think he's cooked.

5. McCain's got nothing, but the Neo-Con's still hold the cards..
They are capable of anything if they think they have a chance of getting away with it.

11. I never second guess what the Neo-cons (nor the RNC) are up to.
Edited on Wed Oct-29-08 02:38 AM by political_Dem
They are probably more focused on small catch-phrases they can sneak in that will stick with voters as they go to the ballot box. They got the "Muslim" and "Arab" attributions to stick because there are a lot of racist people who believe it. They've probably sent Hannity, Drudge, Rush, Boortz and the rest of the RW propagandists more "smears" to brain-wash their listeners.

12. If I was working for his (McSilly's) campaign....
I'd flood the TV and radio with an ad like this:

"Ayers, Resko, Wright, Castro, Chavez, Ahmadinejhad, Putin, Mal-Aki... do you know everything about Obama's interactions with them?"

"If you don't, maybe you should vote for John McCain, somebody you know about and can trust."

It's down to talking with the "undecideds", folks with so little political knowledge or experience that they just don't want to be "wrong".

This is why ground game matters so much.
