4. With Palin, a speech is just a speech

I think people have seen that Sarah Palin is good at giving speeches and rote memorization, but her interviews have shown that she doesn't really have an understanding of the important issues. So I don't think a speech changes anything for her. She'd need to have a one-on-one (read: No babysitter by her side, Sen. McCain!) interview where she's asked tough questions and knocks it out of the park.
