Anyone have any advise as to what I should do? Maybe I can just miss the first half hour of Lightfoot since I have seen him before. I would hate to miss Obama since I haven't seen him yet and this will probably be my last chance before the election.

2. That's a tough one...
local news is saying Obama won't be on stage until 9pm.

We probably won't see Obama come by ABQ again after he's elected so this might be your only chance for a long time...

Sorry, I don't know what I would do!

5. Go see Obama, and hope Lightfoot gets "Edmund Fitzgerald" out of the
way early, so it's done when you get there mid-concert (the only Lightfoot song I don't like, but I really don't like it...).

19. Years ago my wife and I went to a museum in the Upper
Peninsula where "Edmund Fitzgerald" was looped over and over. It must have driven the staff nuts.

President of the United States has it over Gordon Lightfoot. I say this even though I love his music, but what do you want to tell your grandchildren?
"I saw President Obama speak" or "I ditched Barack Obama for Gordon Lightfoot."

Not even close for me.

I saw Obama twice in Wisconsin. It really is an experience.

13. Damn, that's a tough one--but Lightfoot's made history while Obama is about to
Edited on Sat Oct-25-08 05:30 PM by rocknation
and besides, we have to make sure that he pulls in a lot more in NM than the less-than-one-thousand that McCrazed did.

I once had a similar dilemma: choosing between the first Monsters of Rock show, which featured Metallica (they were cool back then), and seeing Iron Maiden two weeks later. I decided that since Metallica would be an opening act, my money would be better spent seeing Maiden and catching Metallica later on when they came through town as headliners.

14. I am a Gordon Lightfoot fan, and I'd go to see Obama once more
The next best wave is the Obama Tsunami, go catch it and hang ten with the rest of us into history being able to say we saw the the great one before he took office.

15. Obama, absolutely
As others have said, seeing him in person is amazing. His charisma, as much as it's obvious on TV, is astounding in person.

Also, people leave his rallies feeling like they've not just witnessed something - they've been part of something. You can feel history being made.

16. You may never be able to buy a ticket to see Obama.
Think about that. It's not like he'll be doing the Obama cross country tour every year after this. Do you want to tell your grand kids about the time you saw Barack Obama, or Gordon Lightfoot? (And I think Gordon Lightfoot is great.)
