*** What's your superstition? ***
Edited on Sat Oct-25-08 03:45 PM by crazy_vanilla
As I am washing my lucky socks today and getting them ready to wear on Election Day, I can't help but wonder how a self-proclaimed rational creature like me can engage in superstitious behavior.

I thought I would take a minute and ask you, my fellow DUers, if you, despite being a person of logic and science, would engage in any superstition-related activity to try and give the Election a little push in the right direction.

Thanks for your time: :hi:

edited for clarity and to add this April Colbert report link on McCain's superstitions 'throw your hat on the bed, wooly mammoth make you dead"

3. On Election Day,
I will follow a specific early morning routine (including drinking coffee from a cup from my late father, who I wish were here to see Obama!), dress in an outfit I wear on special ocassions, and carry two "luck pieces" (a certain Indian artifact, and a certain Irish artifact), and then I'll go vote.

5. I don't have any.
I'm honestly not superstitious about anything. I can't say it has anything to do with logic or reason, I've just never been like that.

When I played hockey I was the only person with no pregame ritual of any kind. I just put the goalie gear on and got into the net and let them fire away. :)

6. I can't think of anything.
I don't have the belief that something minor I could do would influence events in any way.

11. I carry a bead
Edited on Sat Oct-25-08 04:11 PM by Hamlette
last spring I bought a bead painted by one of my favorite "glass people" (I'm a glass blower). I bought it because it reminded me of Obama 'cept the guy in the painted bead has blue eyes. It hasn't been out of my pocket since. I don't have a picture of it but here's a book about the artist. A way cool lady btw.

When we win I'm going to call her and tell her its all because of her and her bead.
