attended my very first Biden rally in Suffolk, Virginia !!!!
This morning I attended the Joe Biden rally, held at Nanesmond HIgh School in Suffolk, VA :bounce: I almost thought it was a DU festival going on--almost everybody was talking about the exact ame topics we do here online, especially when some guy in a moose outfit showed up with a t shirt reading "Moose For Biden"

I'm sorry I don't have photos right now, they're on my cellphone and i need to figure out how to upload them. In addition to an army of Obama/Biden voluteers on hand, there were local, state and yes federal police all over. We even got to wave at the Secret Service snipers on the gym roof. Senator Biden gives one hell of a stump speech in person, I honestly tried to get to the line afterwards to shake his hand, but I was simply outnumbered. And I had 2 Obama/Biden signs and my jacket in my arms

At the moment, I do have Election Day off from work, so I'll be doing some work at the Polling station near my house.

Btw, MSNBC has our state (I'm in Richmond) "leaning Obama" now. :)

A belated "welcome to DU" to you!

6. oh it was full alright
I'll say about 2500 off hand, lots of people kept showing up as we stood outside in line. Obama is going to be in Norfolk Tuesday night :bounce: My only issue is where to park, and you have to pay to park there :-(

9. Obama in Norfolk
Edited on Sat Oct-25-08 10:01 PM by katamaran
Harbor Park, Tuesday Oct 28th, gates open at 7pm, Obama at 9:30. I REEEEEEEALLLLLLY want to go but can't get off from work. My parents want to go too, but don't want to wait in line forever.

There's a RUMOR from my local media friends that the BBC booked 20 hotel rooms in Norfolk and VA Beach for November 3 and 4, and that the reason is that Obama will be doing another swing through the area those days, to try to cement VA. Again, RUMOR, but the guy who told me heard it directly from his BBC friend.

7. I was there too
A couple of pics http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=7605897&mesg_id=7605897 I couldn't take pics of Biden on stage because I was on the bleachers behind him and they said we could not take pics when he was on stage. I got to shake his hand, in fact he grabbed both of mmy hands. :-)

10. At my alma mater!
I got up at the crack of dawn to get in there early. The fire marshal put the number around 1600...the gym can only hold 1700 legally. The local PD was MUCH more on edge and rabid than the feds were. Certain ones were definitely out of their element.

11. I wanted to go so badly but it was too far of a drive for me. I thrilled that you had a great time!
I'm jealous. But I saw Obama in Leesburg this week. I wanted to see Joe and I'm hoping that they come back to VA for the final push...
