1. You can see that he is carrying a heavy heart
I hope his grandmother makes it long enough to see her boy elected president.

11. I honestly think he is either in tears or fighting back tears.
hence the biting of the lips. It is what I do when I don't want to cry, and so do a lot of other people.

5. Helplessness
There is a man who is lauded by millions of people, whose request for funds brings out hundreds of thousands of new donors in a single month who contribute hundreds of millions of dollars. A man set to get the votes of most Americans and the win this election convincingly and perhaps in an historical landslide. A man whose election will mark a watershed change in the culture and shape of this country. A man who will, in all likelihood, become the leader of the most powerful nation in the world and commander in chief of the most powerful military force that has ever existed. A man selected by the citizens of his country at a time of great challenge and grave danger. A man who has the intellectual, political and spiritual resources to be one of the greatest presidents our country has ever seen.

And with all of that, all that he knows and has and can do and is going to be, he is helpless to change the trajectory of one person's life and death.

Each of us has, or will, find ourselves walking those steps.

Namaste, Barack Hussein Obama, Namaste

16. Life's worst experience: The Last Goodbye.
When you live very far away from grandparents, and they are frail and elderly, good-byes are miserable. Everyone is trying to hide the certain feeling that this goodbye is the last goodbye.

I was in my 20's and airfare to get from the West Coast to the St. Louis area was totally out of my economic reach. I wrote to them every week though, and other relatives told me my letters made them happy.

22. Man oh man....
I remember when I lost my grandparents. Grandpa in '86 when i was in the Army, and Grandma 18 years later.

I feel for him, and I hope he finds the comfort he needs.
