How many votes will Bob Barr get?
I bet he won't break a million. He's pathetic. Some guy named Chuck is running for the Constitution Party, and of course there's a Green candidate as well. How many votes do you think they'll take combined, maybe 2 million?

1. He's going to help us win Georgia I think ...
Considering how badly BombBomb's campaign is going, I think
many voters in Georgia in particular will feel like a vote
for Barr is the only way to "stand up for small government".

5. True, that's probably the only place people know who the hell he is..
we know him here in the D.C. area very well and hate his guts for sticking his nose in our business every chance he got.

10. I couldn't stand him during the Clinton era ... when he worked for ACLU
I was SHOCKED. Maybe he's atoning for his past misdeeds ... ?
Helping us steal a red state would go a long way toward "redeeming"
him in my book ...

17. Unbelievably Barr's votes in GA appear to be going to Obama
This chart shows that Obama gains almost one for one as Barr declines.

2. Barr may poll better than you think
In Georgia, for example, he's still remembered for his days in Congress. I think some Republicans, if they're certain McSame will lose, will vote Barr, write in Ron Paul's name, or write in Sarah Palin's name.

3. Boy has that 3rd Party stuff imploded. I used to think about 3% would vote "Other"
but I really doubt it'll be more than 2% of the total now. The votes that Barr will get will be disillusioned conservatives who can't possibly bring themselves vote Dem but want to vote for somebody.

7. A guy I know in Oklahoma is exactly as you describe
We play a video game on the Xbox online together - he's a nice guy, former military. We talk about a wide variety of subjects and he certainly took notice when I changed my Gamerpic to the Obama/Biden logo. He agrees with me almost 100% on everything, but he just can't vote Democratic. Never has, never will according to him.

Last night, he messaged me and told me to look at his Gamerpic. It is now "THIRD PARTY" and he says he will vote for Bob Barr. He's open to the idea of voting for Obama in 2012 if he proves himself.

Some people are just like this. They can't get past the "D" in front of someones name. I've come to accept it, as long as they consider other options if they know the GOP is out to screw them.

4. He had better things to say about Obama then he did about McLame
when he was on CNN the other day. I have no problem with him, but he will not get many votes. Libertarianism is on the out with the stock market crashing and all...regulation is wanted.

9. Interesting, because that's about what Obama's margin is there..
agreed, I hope he does well, he's pissing me off with his pathetic campaign. Nader did better than he has, and he's not a true politician.

8. If McCain is down by ten points or more Barr will receive many more votes, republicans.....
Edited on Fri Oct-24-08 02:14 PM by GreenTea
want to convince themselves that they are really Libertarians, for smaller government...Bullshit, republicans certainly aren't, the three biggest governments in our history are courtesy of Reagan, pappy Bush & the idiot W....government for the rich, corporations & military complex. Fuck the people, the workers who are paying for it all with our taxes.

Barr may get over 2 million votes....Cynthia McKinney maybe a million....I'd vote for her in a heartbeat....if I knew Obama was a sure thing....because I'm a liberal!

24. 2-3% would be nice. That would come straight from McCain
It could give us a couple close states like GA and FL.

27. A few months ago, I signed a petition to get the Constitutional Party
on the ballot in PA.
Because:
1. they won't win anything.
2. they take voters from the republicans.

Hope they get a good (for them) turnout this year.

mark
