Amazing that so many are even voting for Mr. Deregulator, John McCain.

Deregulation led to the S&L debacle. Failing to learn from history, McCain and his buddies thought the answer was not to regulate but to FURTHER deregulate financial institutions.

Don't forget to write John McCain a big THANK YOU note when you get your next 401k statement. I think people will be SHOCKED to see what has happened to their account balances since September 30th.

I'm voting for the smart one this year. Dumb is destroying this country.

1. They need to throw Greenspan's bony ass in jail right now
That fucking idiot didn't have a clue about what he was doing. He really believed all that invisible hand of the market bullshit and he trusted the mortgage lenders to regulate themselves. And while they're at it they need to dig up Milton Friedman and hang him.

We'll be paying for a generation for the fuckup these pieces a shit have caused.

3. What message do you think his statements sent to the rest of the world?
The U.S. government is stupid and doesn't know what the hell is going on. Of course, many figured that out quite some time ago. Do you remember his stupid "glide path" argument when he testified on supporting Bush's fiscal plan?

4. Yes, we will. But we will also be talking about this as long as folks talked about

Hoover and FDR. Make that longer. Same failed economic policies; same party in power; different millenium. If Dems cannot at least make political hay out of this, we SO need better PR people.

I know that is no comfort to folks watching their nest eggs disappear now though, but that is happening anyway. Never forget who was in office in October, 1929, in September 2001, or in October 2008. And never let anyone else forget, either.
