How can they poll the people without a phone
If you have ever been broke and out of work you know what I am speaking of.

If you are broke the first thing that goes is your phone service.

So, my question is "How can the polling be fair if they don't poll ALL economical backgrounds"?

They say that the south is 100% behind Bush then if they are why aren't they doing door to door polling on the people that are living without electricity, food, and telephone service?

Why don't "the pollsters" go into the backwoods in the south or into the inner cities and do some polling?

I guess what is wrong with that idea is that they might find the truth out and they don't want to know it.

6. Polling is still allowed for people on the Do Not Call list,
as are other political calls (including fundraising), non-political surveys (that's why you'll sometimes get a "we're surveying people as to whether they'd be interested in purchasing aluminum siding," which is still illegal but they're trying...), charitable solicitation and similar.

2. It is worse than you think.
Republican Pollsters admitted in an unguarded moment of rare candor: "We always call during the day because that is when most Democrats are at work".

3. They don't call people with cell phones either. They do call
people on the Do NOt Call list. Political stuff is exempt from that law. Also charities.

7. They also hang up if you screen your calls - how many
of us, me included, do that? I know since the "do not call" list came out, I have had a very large increase in hangups - phone polling is just too stupid - a lot of younger people ONLY have cell phones so their opinion it out.

4. From the looks of recent polls....I they can't contact you, you must be...
...so famous and wealthy as to warrant a vote for Buxh.
So they mark them accordingly.
Either that or they read their minds.

5. If they do it right, they make certain assumptions
Of course those assumptions may not be correct, and the poll would not be accurate.

For example, if in the past people without phones didn't vote, then they would assume that that would have no impact.

In my view the demographics have changed enought that the polls are not going to be that accurate. Look at 2000

They did not factor in the disenfranchized(sic) which was a big mistake, and I think they are doing the same thing

In addition I do not thing they are factoring in young people, and college students correctly

9. if a poll is weighted
properly, then the poll will be accurate. It needs to match all the demographics of the electorate.

In the inner city.
