What's Up With Factcheck.org? A Lot Of False Neutrality and Shilling For McCain
Also, the first three articles are attacking Obama, but there is no mention of McCain's recent claims that Obama's policies are socialistic. Also, no factcheck of claim that Obama "pals around with terrorists" What about Joe the Plumber, not being a licensed plumber and benefitting from Obama's tax cuts, and not making more than $250k? Finally, describing the Acorn smears and mere "exagerations"?

Is the Annenberg Foundation putting pressure on Factcheck to start shilling for McCain?

2. Factcheck is doing the MsM moral relatism mistake to appear "nuetral" IMHO
Edited on Tue Oct-21-08 12:06 PM by uponit7771
Either statements are true false or half truths and the half truth should be pointed out.

I stopped reading them when I read about the not taking money from oil companies and FactCheck thought it good to throw in he's taking the money from relatives as if he's supposed to know somehow who ALL the relatives of oil companies are!?

Also, they don't leave ANY room for reading comments.

For example, McCain said he'd do an across the board cut of government spending McCain did NOT exclude medicare.

3. What factcheck.org are YOU looking at?
I have it up in a different window as I type, and only the FIRST attacks Obama; the second attacks McCain about ACORN while mentioning Obama's soft-pedaling his connection with them (true, as far as I can see, and smart of him), and the 3rd talks about McCain's double standard on refundable tax credits.
Ayers is dealt with in the FAQ.

Doesn't seem like we're seeing the same site.

4. McCain said he would do across the board spending cuts in the federal governement
...and that includes medicare (since McKlan didn't exclude it) but FactCheck says Obama's claim that he'd slash medicare benefits is false and it's not.

6. Or stuff that's not even relavent to the question or statement at hand like the Oil Company
...thing where Obama said he didn't take money from them and they called it misleading.

He can't take money from the cause it's illegal so they resorted to him taking money from "relatives" vs. corporate officers and thats was just as lame.

7. Source your claim, please...
As well as factcheck has sourced theirs.

They have been deadly accurate as long as I've been looking at them, according to all research I can do. They source their claim, and back them up. It's gonna take a LOT for me to start believing they're shilling for McCain.
In fact, most freepers I know (and refer to that site frequently) believe it's shilling for Obama.

So if both sides think it's shilling for the other, that tells ME that Factcheck's got it right.

8. Okay, Show Me The Check On The Socialism Charge
This is an easy one to blow up, yet nothing.

Also, on Ayers, the real charge is that Obama is "pals" with Ayers. Yet, the question is defined as Obama was not truthful about Ayers.

On Joe the Plumber, factcheck gives McCain the benefit of the doubt that McCain is only referring to Joe's aspiration to be a small businessman. This is bullshit. McCain during the debate was clearly make the claim that Joe would be better off under McCain, than Obama.

In other words, the charge being debunked should match that being made by the McCain campaigm, rather than some watered down version with all the caveats provided by the McCain campaign after the fact.
