Ok, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Grand Junction Colorado a SUPER red rural area?
I mean, typically at this point in the campaign you'd see a Republican spending a lot of time in suburban areas of Ohio and Florida. Fifteen days before the election and McCain-Palin is campaigning in Grand Junction Colorado? Huh? Wow, this really is going to be a massive landslide.
1. Western Colorado is far less red and rural than it used to be.
There are a lot of newcomers from the Denver area and other cities and suburbs outside of Colorado. Dick Cheney campaigned in Grand Junction at least once during the 2004 campaign, and Colorado was hardly a swing state then.
2. For the past two years I've been to Grand Junction
My band from San Diego plays Grand Junction for the High Desert Ska Festival. To be perfectly honest, Grand Junction has progressively become more metro for such a teeny tiny town. It's not uncommon to see a rainbow flag at a shop downtown if that's any indication. I don't know. I love it there. Beautiful.
