Why did Brokaw immediately bring up race? This is BS
I don't care if FReepfreaks and Buchanan will bring it up later, why the hell did he immediately bring up Powell's race after the endorsement? Powell gives his endorsement, and Brokaw asks if race was a factor, citing that others will "certainly" bring it up later. Does the fact that racists will bring it up later excuse him?

Will Brokaw ask every white person endorsing McCain if race is a factor in the endorsement?

F-cking bull

1. Brokaw=Fraud
When I hear his droning voice all I can think of is the Family Guy episode featuring the gang of Tom Brokaws.

2. McCain has that same whistling-S thing when he talks. So annoying.

3. The only chance McCain has is the race baiting argument
Thanks Brokaw :(

6. It gives Powell time to go on record explicitly answering those claims.

I don't see the harm in it.

9. Agreed -- Powell gave an excellent response, and Brokaw did him a favor by bringing it up

7. I'm glad the question was asked

Powell was able to get it out of the way during the show; he nipped it in the bud right away. Instead of having people imply that he was simply endorsing Obama because he's black. I wouldn't doubt Powell had Brokaw ask that.

8. I agree
It was going to be an issue anyway. At least Powell got to address it.

10. I thought it was fair and gave Powell a chance to pre-emptive strike that down
I cringed at first and then thought it through and liked that it was addressed and dismissed immediately.

11. It was going to be asked anyway. Better that it was brought up then.

13. To give Powell an opportunity to respond immediately to what will be asked repeatedly in coming days
It would've been irresponsible journalism for him NOT to have asked that. He provided Powell with an opportunity to silence the asswipes out there like Buchanan.
