Obama's Pie Story has been good for business at the Fireside in Georgetown, Ohio!
Just read this really adorable article about the Fireside... since Obama visited, the owner has changed the name of the double-decker cheeseburger Obama ordered from "The Big O" to "The Obama Burger!" The owner also says people are coming in and ordering coconut cream pie for breakfast!

But he still won't say who he's voting for. ;-)

'Big O' Burger Gets A New Name - Brown County News Democrat

Excerpt:

Fireside Owner Bill Seip had a chance to talk with Obama one on one, and said that he was impressed with the way the candidate handled himself.

“It was a great honor to have him around. He’s very down to earth; he knows what’s going on,” Seip said.

Seip’s chat with Obama has made him an overnight celebrity, as the candidate has mentioned his stop in Georgetown three times in his rallies since then. Seip said that the restaurant has been selling a lot of pies and burgers since Obama stopped, and that he sold 30 pounds of hamburger in just a few hours by changing the name of the “Big O” burger to the “Obama burger.”

“The article came out in the paper on Sunday, and that morning we had people in here eating coconut pie for breakfast,” Seip said.

he's even formally elected! I like pie too, but I'll leave the coconut for Obama. Give me Sweet Potato, please!

I'm gonna go to this diner and write a full review for everyone one of these days. :-)

6. i live a short drive from G-town
and it definitely left everyone there who got a chance to meet him completely awe-struck.

ive always said if he did more touring and meet-n-greeting with people in ANY red state youd see his poll numbers go up.

hes a like-able guy.

7. Have you ever been to the Fireside?
I don't live far from there either... I want to check it out, order an Obama Burger and some pie!!

You're absolutely right about the meet-n-greets and how they've been positive for Obama so far. I also wish he did a little more of that; I wonder if it's out of safety concerns that he doesn't?
