Bagels await an Obama visit
U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Weston, said Thursday she expects presidential candidate Barack Obama to make a campaign visit to her district's condo residents.
Wasserman Schultz said the older Jewish residents of those condominiums are moving toward Obama, but it'll take personal effort to seal the deal.
"My seniors need to have bagels and cream cheese with their presidential candidate. And I told that to Obama. I said I need to have you come have bagels and cream cheese with me in the condos. And he's coming," she said in an interview.
"By seeing him and talking to him, they can say ... 'I met Barack Obama. I listened to him. I looked into his heart and I know he cares about the issues I care about,'" she said.
