Markets rallying again?
Edited on Fri Oct-10-08 02:24 PM by scheming daemons
Dow only down 77 now.

Here's hoping that the 700-point drop in the opening minutes today was the "bottom" we've been waiting for.

1. I'm sure there are some good buying opportunities out there
and perhaps some optimism over the meeting this weekend. At least I hope so :-).

8. I don't think it'll close below 8000, probably not below 8200
although it might dip down again at the end of the day.

Sooner or later a critical mass of those guys are going to notice that the sky is securely where it belongs and start buying up stock in companies that have not actual fundamental weaknesses, and there are lots of those in the market. A lot of companies are adversely effected in the short run by the credit shortages, but there are some good deals. Unfortunately, no one I know has the resources to go after any of them!

9. Go Go PPT
They're back, guys! Isn't it great knowing that we get to work a good 1/3 of the year so DOW30 investors can get free profits?

10. SIgns the bottom may be hit
Volatility always characterize a market searching for a bottom. When some stocks start to look like real bargains others are dumped and people start buying up the bargains. SO this could be encouraging and could mean we've hit rock bottom.

I don't want to tell you how much my 401K has declined in just the last few days. Really, really, really ugly. Good thing I'm not thinking of retiring soon.

11. Yep, in 1998 when the dot-coms became volatile..
..I knew that the bottom had been hit and I bought like crazy.

That's why I'm a dot-com billionaire today!
