The McCain campaign hysteria reminds me of two episodes of The Twilight Zone
In "The Shelter" once friendly neighbors tear each other to pieces, fighting to get into a bomb shelter. One guy turns on the Jewish neighbor and calls him a "pushy, grabby, semi-American". The character played by Jack Albertson yells, "Stop it, stop it, your acting like a mob, and a mob has no brains!", but nobody listens to him.

Everybody remembers "The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street". All the power and modern conveniences stop working, and neighbors accuse each other of being the alien behind it. The outside forces who are the ones really behind it watch as the neighborhood tears itself apart.

McCain and Palin are making Barach "THE OTHER" and orchestrating a mob with no brains. Next comes the torches and five-strand hemps. This is just plain evil.

:scared:

2. Republicans think they have a permanent entitlement to the U.S. presidency
They had their shot over the last eight years and really blew it. Boy did they blow it. Time to give the Democrats a chance to rectify the Bush mess. I kind of think that Republican and frustration must stem not only from the fact that they are set to the lose the Presidency and (at least for the racists among them) that they will lose to a black man. But they must also feel anger at having been nationally exposed as the party of failed ideas and they can't do anything about it.

5. That's why they went insane when Clinton won
The have a sense of "manifest destiny", on a mission from God. The Republican party is no longer a party. It's a object of worship.

6. Ooooo, that's a good one!
I saw that with my little brother in 1961. I was 11 and he was 6. I told him that the gremlin was in his bedroom closet and it scared him to death. We still laugh about it today.
