Nasty mob-like mentality at McCain-Palin rally.
Edited on Thu Oct-09-08 12:50 PM by jefferson_dem
I've been watching the McCain-Palin rally from Waukesha, WI on CNN and I must say this campaign not only represents the worst of American politics but the worst of human nature. So much base-level anger...hate...vitriol...it's hard to know where to start.

One questioner demands we "line up" Obama and all his terrorist friends. Another says he's "mad as hell" that we are becoming a socialist country. Another crazy person has been screaming "ACORN" the whole event. McCrypt ensures "accountability." He says ACORN has been messing with the integrity of the vote and needs to be investigated and shut down. Another questioner says he's been shaking his head wondering how Obama got in this position to begin with.

What an absolutely disgusting display. These people are not right and must be defeated.

I have spoken to a few old friends from there and they are horrified that McSame is there today though!

18. I live ten miles away. I'm so ashamed of them!
They are whipped up into a frenzy by RW radio and all the RW talking heads. They've clearly scapegoated all the Democrats, making them resposible for everything that's gone wrong. As if they Repubs have not been in charge all of these years!

This is not an economically depressed area. Their concerns are taxes, gas prices (this is a commuter area), and their investments. Housing is stable here.

They've got theirs and don't want to give a red cent to anybody else. But oh by the way, keep those Social Security and Medicare payments coming!

5. Unfortunately, there's nothing funny about it.
It's like doing a comedy sketch on a Nuremburg rally.

8. There's a lot of truth in humor - they could make Palin look like a complete idiot.

11. I hope so, also. Back when there was talk of invading Iraq they did a nasty bit
about the protesters against the war. They lampooned them as not having any idea why they were protesting. Some were shown to think they were saving the whales, for instance. That was back when you couldn't disagree about anything without being treated like an unpatriotic fool. Well, times have changed and SNL is doing some decent satire right now and a bit about the Republican's lynch mobs would sure look nice.

4. Sickens me how much I'm hearing about ACORN, and how little I've heard about DREs.

6. You're right. The behavior on display there is really disturbing.
There is so much fear, hatred, and anger seething through this audience. It's really over the top.

I think the crazies will go absolutely ballistic. Be prepared for it, and be careful out there.

19. I know. Dems might find their windows broken, stuff like that
around here. Mailbox smashing is popular; they might do that too. Not the older people but the kids.

13. In these final weeks McCain has shredded his last bit of dignity
I don't know what he's going to do walking back into the Senate later this fall.

15. John McCain Surrendered His Principles For Power
John McCain Surrendered His Dignity
John McCain Surrendered To Deregulation
John McCain Surrendered To the Radical Religious Right

John McCain SURRENDERED!

Obama should beat Johnny Lockjaw over the head with this.

If the SS don't give McKKK and Palin a visit after this, it will prove that the law officially does not apply to Republicans in this country

20. OMG! I just saw a bit of it on the ABC nightly news! It reminded me
of a book I read "Evil Harvest" about a guy that would go out and rile people up like that and they would join his cult and eventually committed murders etc. Those people are already sick and McCain and Palin are helping them to have a voice on tv and in the public. This is a dangerous game they are playing and it's really sad.
