Because neither Barack nor Joe will have a reason to come campaign out in Washington again before the election! Dang it! I wanna be a swinger! Er... a swing-stater! lol

but I'd be thrilled if we became a safe state for Obama and he could spend time in Arizona or Texas

5. I bet it has to feel really great for Democrats in traditionally red states...
I'm really happy for you guys.

Having been from Dayton, OH originally, I'm used to seeing a lot of political rallies because the state is so sought-after. Went to two of Bill C's back in 1996. Then I moved to WA, and, well... after primary season, there is no real reason for them to venture all the way back out here again.

22. I love it too, but...
It was also the reason they had to send Palin to my city yesterday. To make it even worse, she stayed there afterwards to watch the debate at my favorite sports bar

41. Wasn't Vermont a Republican state until the 1990s?
In that it voted fo the Republican presidential ticket most elections? It seems to have undergone quite a political transformation over the past two decade -always good to see

28. Where are you msallied?
I love living in New England and having the 4 seasons. Autumn really is my favorite time too. I can't give that up to live in a swing state I guess...unless I want to go to NH but they get even more snow then we do and what we get is plenty enough for me.

29. I'm in Olympia, WA
Waving from one corner of the US to the other. :hi:

I wish we had 4 seasons. lol Fall and winter aren't too much different. It's endless rain and clouds in the fall and endless clouds, rain, and ice in the winter. But we live for the spring and summer. We had a great summer this year. A lot of warmth and sunshine. I miss the autumns of the midwest, where I grew up. There are more evergreen than deciduous trees out here, so the foliage isn't nearly as brilliant.

38. I really would love to see the other side of the U.S. some day.
Only been on the east coast and to the Caribbean. You guys may have rain but at least you have beautiful mountains. Just rolling hills here. The best part about CT is its real small. Anywhere you want to get to takes about less then 2 hours depending on traffic. Bad thing about CT is the traffic because it IS so small. Congestion everywhere. Highways and main routes in most larger towns. Alot of people in a small space. Oh well, I have lived here all my life, all 32 years and I can't see leaving. Its just home. The 4 seasons, the history (lots of old houses and museums), and the fast pace. Its something you just get used to.

I won't give this state up till after the polls have closed. Congrats to those that are FINALLY considered relevant! Things are changing!!!

You DO remember....Census will be redrawn after 2010 census. TIme to build Dem base now in states.

Didn't McCain win the GOP primary there in 2000?

And it almost elected Dino Rossi for the governorship even as voters cast their ballots for John Kerry. And it could very well elect Dino Rossi this time around:puke:

Fear not, thee's still some excitement this time around in Washington state.

Now if you lived in Washington DC, that would be a different story altogether. That's where Barack is guaranteed over 85 per cent of the vote

Actually I'm not from the US and don't live there. But I did visit Seattle a few years ago as part of a tour of several cities in the US and it was one of

My county is all-mail. They said they'll be mailing ballots out in 8 days!!!!!!!!!

I can hardly wait. I will drop it off in person at the county auditor's office.
