Shamed a freeper into betting on the race
I was sitting in a staff meeting this morning and my freeper co-worker was extolling the virtues of McCain/Palin and saying how bad they were going to beat Obama/Biden. One of my other coworkers asked him if was willing to bet on it. He hemmed and hawed, I smelled blood and pounced. I forced his hand and we now have a dinner bet at one of the nicest steakhouses here but I need DU's help: What should I order: http://www.mcintoshs1.com/dinnermenu.html

6. Only problem with that is you'll have to have dinner with him.
I'd ask for a gift certificate instead so I could enjoy my free dinner.

19. I was going to ask that ... if he was a real prick, then I would say to hit him hard.
Just get a shrimp cocktail appetizer and a nice cut of steak ... but don't go too cheap ...

9. My suggestion...
start off with the fried lobster tail for your appetizer, and I personally would have the broiled Atlantic Salmon for my entree.

Make sure you don't eat for a day or two before you go so you'll have room for desert!

Already decided on the carrot cake with a scoop of Ben and Jerry's. I'll be sure to let Jeff know how much B & J support our side.

12. I have the same bet with one of my Republican friends who I have
a weekly dog walk with!

Our bet is if Obama wins I take her out to breakfeast so she can mourn her loss. And Vice Versa if McCain wins.

I am going to win! I am going to have a celebratory breakfeast!! He..he..

15. fillet mignion is my favorite (not sure about the spelling)
and do not forget a really expensive appetizer. Also ask if they do souffle deserts, that's also one of my favorites and quite expensive.

16. I won a bet like that once with a Republican
Go to a real nice place (like you seem to have picked out already), then keep the price of your order low. Don't just order a salad and nothing else, but pick one of the lowest priced entrees, no more drinks besides maybe one beer, no sides that cost extra, no dessert. Be a gracious victor.

31. That might be cool, or maybe buy him an Obama T-shirt to wear.
But this is just me, I would prefer going there with him dreading having to pay for all the most expensive things on the menu. Then he would be relieved to find that you didn't stick it to him even though you had him by the gonads.

I've done something like that as I've said. If I may be so bold as to say, it's a classy move.

21. Order a hot and cold sampler for two...
and eat it yourself...followed with "The Wedge" . For mains have the Mixed Grill with a side of asparagus and mashed horseradish potatoes, and top it all off with some homemade apple pie with a DOUBLE scoop of Ben and jerry's. And be sure to wear your fat pants.

23. Personally, I would start with the...
Oysters Rockefeller, and then have a small Tossed Green Salad. I would probably want a glass of the Frog's Leap Sauvignon Blanc with that (if they sell it by the glass).

Then, of course, the Porterhouse.
A side of Garlic Mashed Potatoes, and a side of Asparagus with Hollandaise.
And a bottle of the Gundlach Bundschu 2001 Pinot Noir please!

For dessert - probably the Dark Chocolate Cake and a glass of port, which I don't see on the menu. Tawny, please!

And yes... I can eat all of that!

Mmm... now I'm hungry.
Lunchtime!

25. Oh, I think you've got to go off the menu.
Call the chef a day or two early and ask for two porterhouses for two in a reduction sauce. That should cover at least ten pounds of outrageously overpriced beef.

And it will taste awesome.
