so where did that "slug fest" go... eh?
This HuffPo story is from just a few HOURS ago - before the debate took place:

"Everyone expects tonight's debate to be a slug-fest since John McCain and Sarah Palin turned up the heat in the last couple of days with nasty, personal attacks aimed at Barack Obama. Governor Palin 'advised' Senator McCain to "take the gloves off" during a conversation with NY Times columnist William Kristol. McCain predicted that the gloves would come off during an event last week:

So, the "heels are on, and the gloves are off", eh? Well, it looks like McCain chickened out. I think Barack was ready for him, if McCain had made good on his empty threats. But doesn't this point out how under-handed all the "pal around with terrorists" stuff is? And whipping up hatred in his right-wing rally crowds. He wouldn't DARE go before the WHOLE public with his mob-inciting false charges.

2. The Slug was McCain
and his "slugfest" was manifested by the slimy ooze he left all over the stage. That's why he kept moving around in that shuffle fashion, he was leaving his slug trail.

4. McCain couldn't find his spine.
It's easy to throw mud when you're not facing your opponent. But last night only showed that when it comes to walking the walk, McCain is a weak, weak man.
