The BIGGEST GAFFE McPenguin made was the mortgage buyout "deal"
Not only were Republicans who were watching in focus groups nosedive in their support for McCain, but McCain's notion that "the government" would buy back "bad mortgages" and somehow give people a "better mortgage" shows either an absolute complete misunderstanding of banking, mortgages and the basics of real estate OR McCain is the biggest socialist since Karl Marx.

I would hope this statement made by McCain is completely examined and exploited....I'm sure it will be.

You can have the rest of McPenquin's gaffes (which are many), but this one goes to the heart of just how much of a stupid asshole McPenquin is.

3. It Wasn't a Gaffe
It was obviously a premeditated proposal. McCain couldn't explain it properly and probably didn't understand it.

What it reminded me of was McGovern's desperate proposal to give $5,000 to each citizen. That didn't go over either.
