I hope Obama keeps soldiering on despite the hate and violence
I'm sorry to be a worrywart but it looks like Obama's payoff in the polls from all of his hard work and investment in getting out the vote and encouraging the general education of the average voter is making the McCain camp foment the sort of hatred that encourages the sort of hate crime that lead to things like the Unitarian Church shooting or the death of the Texas State Democratic Party official. So, the racists, bigots and violent mob is the Republican's last bastion. These videos of the Palin hate rallies with Obama being called a terrorist or a traitor is whipping up a lynch mob sort of mentality that is ugly and should be stopped. So please, if you guys hear anything that sounds remotely like a threat against Obama, report it to the authorities!

I am getting frightened for Obama as we now need him more than ever. I hope that he could take precautions like some sort of discreet bulletproof vest or something. I am just scared for him even though I want him to continue running. I am so touched by his bravery in the face of all of this and his calm despite the fact that the pressure and unfair attacks he has been under for more than a year would crush a lesser man (or woman). Please encourage the Secret Service to do their job thoroughly!

I don't know if it's naive but I really do think that Obama is running for the Presidency out of a sense of altruism rather than ambition. No one, no matter what amount of ambition they have, could be able to keep continuing in the face of such attacks unless they were seriously driven by something purer than just personal gain. The man's character comes straight through even more with all this chaos and turmoil.

I also realize that I might be called out for being a concern troll but these new attacks by the McCain camp seem to be giving the extremists, who already didn't need encouragement, a green light. I don't want these people to win. We need to protect Obama so that he can be our President.

5. I wasn't here when Kennedy was killed

But...PLEASE keep Obama safe....

Kennedy was only murdered after it was evident that he would win the Democratic nomination. It was at THAT moment, when Bobby Kennedy assumed control that they killed him. I think they knew he would win the White House.

With the polls looking so good for Obama, the fascists will get desperate. Obama's people damn well better keep him safe. This is the first time in my life that I actually felt like someone would kill a candidate for office.

6. This will sound stupid, but it kills me to see his feelings hurt. He
may not show it and I know he's tough, but damn, down deep these horrible statements especially from the Palin crowd have got to cut deep. I don't want to sound like a mommy here but it hurts.

7. Yeah, it really hurts me too to see him have to just take it and not show any pain.
Even when some of this stuff is just LOW. Just so low.

It's so obvious that he loves America but yet he's the one constantly being accused of wanting to destroy it or plotting to destroy it or consorting with those who want to destroy it.

It's just what makes me sick at heart about this election with the mud slinging. I hate that he has to be derailed from the issues that he wants to discuss because he has to do both defense and offense and sometimes the barrage of attacks are so vicious that sometimes I'm scared that it'll overwhelm. It just requires so much discipline.

And all this for what? Even more stress and scrutiny and a mostly thankless job cleaning up after the most fucked up presidency in the history of America.

So yes, I want us all to do our share in protecting this man as best as we can.

8. A man with the intellect and conviction that Obama embodies realizes
that these low blows originate from ignorance. Ignorance is not a device that can cause a man like Obama true pain. He is so far above the level of these comments that they glance off of him. He isn't just "acting" calm, cool, and collected, the man IS calm, cool, and collected.

He looks into the audiences at his appearances and instantly realizes he is far from alone in this battle. The minority of hate-filled, racist, extremists, that are being egged on by McLiar and the Moose are only hurting themselves more and more every day as the become the smaller and smaller minority in this race.

Obama is a highly focused professional in the most important fight of his life. The inadequacies of his opponent will not hurt him on any level, including the emotional level, but rather, they will further inspire him to bring this thing home, to finish with his head high and his honor, integrity, and word intact, and to take over this country in a time when only a man of his capability is fit to do so.

10. I know there are many people..
who think it's a waste of time..but whenever I read crap that is being spewed on the television screen I email. Or phone. It may amount to nothing but it's what I can do. But this is nothing new. We've been going up against this crap from the get-go.
