I'm really tired of GOP sending in black "strategists" on the networks
Edited on Mon Oct-06-08 05:04 PM by elkston
in an attempt to add an air of legitimacy and fairness to McCain/Palin's (covertly racist) character attacks.

Some guy named Mike Paul was on Hardball hyping up the Ayers thing and meek little Jennifer Palmeri (of Obama) could barely keep up.

Look. I know there are blacks who beleive in lower taxes, smaller government, big military, etc. But there has to be a point where pride and dignity come into play.

The Republican Party as it stands today is one of exclusion and "white flight".

So it saddens me when I see Black Republicans participate in the GOPs attempts to turn this into a war of racial fears. I got news for you folks: The kind of people you are trying to excite don't think very much of you. They don't mind having you out there spreading their hateful message, but just try to run for Senate or President and watch them turn against you.

I'm not saying all Democrats are free of prejudice but at least our party attempts to stand up against it and preaches a message of inclusion.

So to Joe Watkins, Mike Paul, Amy Holmes, Tara Wall, Michelle Bernard (maybe), Michale Steele -- WISE UP.

5. These black people should realize that white people think they are lazy and stupid.
My racist co-workers make comments about black people all of the time.

They think, just because I'm white, that it's okay.

They're being used. It's pathetic.

7. As a black man...
...I have a profound hatred of Black Republicans. I'm getting to the point that my blood pressure really gets pummped when I see the likes of Steele, Christie and their ilk.

I see them as nothing but boot-licking whores and "house niggers", that will gladly sell out their people for a percentage.

May they all rot in Hell (if I believed in Hell)

To allow oneself to be trotted out as a GOP token while the GOP race baits is beyond contemptible. I don't see how they can live with themselves.

14. I wonder if they do the same thing on Faux
or whether they only send them to stations that attract a more liberal audience. Ron Christie is another one to add to your list. However, I don't think Michelle Bernard belongs there. I have heard her criticize McCain/Palin quite a bit.

16. Who Cares. I think Black Repubican pundits probably are hurting McCain's campaign
Not that this is a significant knock on them, but its something I've been noticing all of this election season. It seems they are always having a black talking head represent the GOP side of things lately, and I don't think they are doing John McCain any favors.

Does anyone believe that Black Republicans are converting any minorities to the GOP cause? Of course not. Its not much different than Sarah Palin being a turn off towards female democrats. And since they are doing nothing to sway blacks, or minorities, to their ticket they can ONLY be hurting things.

Imagine you're a deep seeded black-hating racist, and you are stuck with Obama on one ticket and then everybody speaking on behalf of the other ticket is black. You don't feel good about that. You feel like you have NOBODY representing you. Hell, that's the new cause of the "Angry White Man" right now, as it is. You feel that minorities are taking over in jobs and other places that were tradionally your stronghold. The Republican party is one of the last bastions of "White Pride" left in the country and all you see is blacks representing it on TV.

No...I see no reason to think having Black Republican pundits is, in any way, helping GOP cause. I guess they are trying to send a message of "see, its ok to be black and vote Republican", but I don't see that message hitting the mark anywhere. Honestly, it probably doesn't do anything. But if it does, it seems more likely to turn off people, on both sides, than to do any good.

20. Nah.
I forgot to mention that I am black myself. I really DO understand some black republicans. Some rebel against the assumption that blacks SHOULD vote Democratic. They feel that Democrats only further disenfranchize blacks by making them rely on government programs instead of their own ingenuity.

Others simply are wealthy and don't want to pay what they perceive to be higher taxes. Same story as other Repubs.

31. Hmmm. I can probably get inside this sister's head. (as a black guy)
My gut tells me she got dogged out by some black "players" and now holds it against all brothers. She is projecting that hate onto Obama.

Or its even possible she hates Michelle Obama for some reason. Too pretty? Too successful? I don't want to sound sexist, but sometimes women's disdain for other women can be the clincher.

OR, she may just be a conservative woman who once backed Hillary! She might be an evangelical. But that's kind of odd too cause Hillary's social stances are just like Obamas!

Their convention looked like a klan rally.

Around here, I literally actually cannot FIND a black republican. Can't find them. I told a friend about the one African-American lady I saw at the GOP convention and she said "bless her heart, was she lost?"

They're just being used as tools.
