I Must Go to Sleep,So"Discuss Amongst Yourselves" Colin Powell Endorsement in Late October
I have one of those "inside sources" that says the General is Ready to Go Public "after the debates".

1. Don't need his endorsement. He's not a part of the change message.
I hope he just goes away.

2. The base will just say "Well of course because he is black."
Now if Donald Rumsfeld endorsed Obama that would be a knockout punch.

6. I disagree. He's also a military man and a Repub. Endorsing Obama would be a big deal in a good
way. It would be a punch in the guts to McCain.

14. Agreed. I would welcome a Powell endorsement in a big way.
Powell is, without question, one of the most respected public figures in the country today (DU hate notwithstanding). His endorsement would serve to further "credentialize" Obama in the area of Commander-in-Chief...while delivering a major middle-finger to McLame at the same time.

17. Max Cleland was a military guy
Look what the Repukes did to him in Georgia.

I don't think a Powell endorsement hurts at all. We'll take whatever we can get.

4. Uhm, I don't care, Colon Bowel can fuck off and die. I just don't care about that lying sack

of self-serving shit. He played a key role in making the travesty that is the war in Iraq possible.

5. He's putting this off just like he did the My Lai investigation and coverup
which he was apart of.

I can't stand this man.

7. It doesn't matter. Powell's credibility is zero since his U.N. presentation.
I doubt if an endorsement from him would make much difference on way or another really.

8. If he does endorse, it will be McCain. He is a republican, remember? He helped lie
for Bush**-Rove's "war'. No way he will change his allegiance.

9. it might be more significant to endorse now or maybe a few months
ago but that would take guts, which he lacks. he's a bandwagon rat bastard.

13. Oh please say this isn't so. Please say this isn't so. Please say this isn't so.
Powell lied to us all and he never admitted to it. If anything, if Powell really wanted to help Obama, he could come out now and and tell the truth.

15. Colin Who? Who Gives a Care?
The man made himself irrelevant years ago, and has done nothing since to make up for it.

He'd be trying to refurbish his image by sucking up, not adding anything to Obama's luster.

19. Appreciate it, but I think Powell should remain silent.
it won't help. Americans will just view it through racial lenses anyway.
